Privacy policy

The short version

Tossit works on your phone. Your photos, videos and contacts are analysed on your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We don't run accounts, adverts or tracking. The only personal information we hold is your email address, and only if you join our waitlist or email us.

Who we are

Tossit is made by Tom Stamp, based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy question, email hello@gettossit.com.

The Tossit app

• Photos and videos. With your permission, Tossit reads your photo library to find duplicates, similar shots, screenshots, large files and Live Photos. This analysis happens entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers, because we don't have any.
• Contacts. If you open the Contacts section and give permission, Tossit reads your contacts to find duplicates and incomplete entries. Any changes are made only when you approve them, and they sync through your own iCloud or other accounts, as usual.
• Deleting and changing items. Photos and videos you remove go to your phone's Recently Deleted album, where you can restore them for 30 days. If iCloud Photos is turned on, deleting an item removes it from iCloud and your other devices too.
• No accounts, ads or tracking. Tossit doesn't ask you to sign up, doesn't show adverts, and doesn't track you across other apps or websites.
• Purchases. Any in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
• Notifications. If you allow them, Tossit can send a monthly reminder. These are scheduled on your phone.

This website

• Waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address to tell you when Tossit launches. The form is handled by our website host, Netlify, which stores submissions on our behalf and may process them outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
• Legal basis. We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
• How long we keep it. We keep waitlist emails until launch, and for no longer than 12 months after that, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Emails you send us. If you contact us, we use your message only to reply.
• Cookies. This site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email hello@gettossit.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Tossit isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
